Fairy Garden Birthday Party

Last month I threw together a fairy garden birthday party for my 5 year old ( I still can’t believe my oldest is five?!). I absolutely love throwing birthday parties for my kids. The process is so fun for me from the planning, to the party supply shopping, late night-last minute decorating, and seeing how happy my child is during the party. My daughter got a fairy garden cottage from Santa for Christmas which is how the party idea originated. It was so easy to find decorations and party favors since everything “spring”  was coming out in stores. Below you can click through the slideshow of images to see how it all came together.

  • It's tradition for me to make a birthday banner of pictures from each month of the previous year. It's fun to see how much they've grown in a year!
  • Wings from the dollar store for each of the party guests.
  • Clay pots, also from the dollar store that each girl decorated with foam stickers and washi tape.
  • I cut out red poster-board circles and glued small white circles on top for the "musical mushrooms" game.
  • Getting ready to play musical mushrooms.
  • Each guest got to take home a flower crown that I found on Amazon.
  • I made "fairy dust" necklaces for each of the little fairies to take home. Small glass bottles with corks, glitter (secured with clear elmers glue so it wouldn't go all over), ribbon and clear sticker labels.
  • I use these milk jugs for every party now. Favorite! I found flower straws in the Target dollar section.
  • We decorated flower shaped sugar cookies.
  • Playing "hide the fairy". Someone would hide a small fairy in the yard and everyone tried to find it.
  • "Hide the fairy" game. No peeking!
  • Present time!
  • Happy birthday, darling!
