5 Easy Neighbor Christmas Gifts
December 13, 2017
One of my favorite Christmas traditions is giving neighbor gifts. My mom is the most creative person I know and always came up with clever sayings and poems to go with the item. I loved helping her put together these fun gifts and delivering to our friends and neighbors. Now I’m carrying on the tradition with my children and they love it just as much. Of course they loved taste-testing every treat too! We went door to door delivering our plates of goodies. It was so sweet to see them excited and wish our neighbors a merry Christmas.
I’ve come up with 5 easy and inexpensive gifts that you can put together for your neighborhood. I made some basic tags that were super simple and easy. Enjoy spreading some cheer around your neighborhood this Christmas season!
Christmas Neighbor Gift Ideas:
1. Plate of Homemade Goodies
I love to bake, but especially at Christmastime. These recipes are sure to make your kitchen smell amazing. Below are the links to the recipes I used.
- Gingerbread Loaf
- Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies
- White Chocolate Dipper Peppermint Cookies
- Pretzel Rolo Bites
2. Hot Cocoa Jar – “Warm Holiday Wishes”
Either make or buy your favorite hot chocolate powder and pour it into a jar. You can layer crushed peppermint, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. Tie with a ribbon and candy cane.
3. Box of tissues – “We ’tissue’ a Merry Christmas”
I found this cute tissue box from Target and have it linked below. This is one of my favorite ideas and way too easy. Tie with a ribbon and it looks just like a present (that will for sure be useful during cold and flu season!).
4. Hand Soap – “You’re a ‘scent’sational neighbor”
Bath and Body Works always has hand soap sales where you can buy some in bulk for a good price. Stock up and give a fun holiday scent to your neighbors.
5. Cocoa Puff Treats – “Reindeer Poop”
This is a fun idea especially for kids to give their neighbor friends. Simply follow the rice krispie recipe on the back of a marshmallow bag but instead of using rice krispie cereal, substitute with cocoa puffs. Spray your hands with cooking spray and shape into balls that will fit into a cellophane bag. Tie with a ribbon and a cute tag.
I loved putting together all of these ideas. There are plenty more clever ways to send some Christmas cheer. A fun family tradition everyone will enjoy.
